Company owner James Barr established a limited company in 2014 to work directly with clients after having worked as a consultant designer since 1999. With experience in a wide range of industries they are well practiced at taking an idea and transforming it into an aesthetic and effective product.
The team at James Barr Design pride themselves on their ability to research and quickly understand any products unique challenges and opportunities. As well as product engineering they can support with aspects of a product launch including IP, marketing visuals, graphic design and packaging.

Excellent proactive service
We used James to help us solve a problem with a series of light fittings, where the installation didn’t provide a neat enough finish. We needed a bespoke face plate and trim to fit 25 stair lights. We contacted James through a recommendation and were delighted with the service he provided. James came to visit, designed a bespoke part to fit the lights, made two prototype that we could test and then arranged for very speedy 3D printing. A tricky problem that could have taken weeks to sort, fixed in about 10 days. The lights look great too. Highly recommended. Thanks James!
