Debbie Claxton’s ‘SLS Shell Series’

Loughborough Student Debbie Claxton asked us to create her highly intricate shell designs on our SLS machine. These pushed the machine to its limits and succeeded.

Overview

Debbie says ‘The ‘SLS Shell Series’ collection explores the construction of a form or sculpture through an animation process on Maya 3D Animation Software.

Each sculpture is created from a single three-dimensional element that is duplicated along an animation pathway: with an element per second, changing in size and angle.
